Conference Assistant
About the Conference Assistant Position
The Conference Assistant position with Conference Services has historically been one of the most competitive, challenging, and rewarding student employment opportunities on campus. Conference Assistants are responsible for the execution of over 125 conferences and camps each summer that bring over 25,000 guests to the university. These guests will spend over 60,000 nights in our residence halls and will eat almost 100,000 meals!
Conference Assistants are responsible for staffing the 24-hour front desk of our operation and assisting our meeting planners with conference preparation during the first few weeks of our season. To further enrich their experience, Conference Assistants will then have the opportunity to plan conferences on their own beginning in early July. We ultimately hire Senior Assistants based on their performance as Assistants, making the first year an extremely integral one. Because of the demands of the position, Conference Assistants may not take classes during their employment and they may not have any other part-time or full-time employment.
